Days 73-88
Okay, so I said that I would be more diligent getting this thing updated...no such luck! We have been so busy trying to get Kelly's parents packed and ready to move to their new house that I have hardly had time to do anything else! The House is coming along great! Uncle Joe has been working on the plumbing and HVAC...he plans on bringing in the tubs and showers next week! Most of the house is completely framed, just a few odds and ends that need to be done. They finished framing the stairs yesterday...now we don't have to walk clear around the back of the house if we want to go downstairs! This week they have been working on the roof! Holy cow...it looks so different! They should get finished putting up the trusses tomorrow and will start sheeting it on Monday...very cool! I did notice the other day that my front dining room window is about 10 inches off center, so they will be fixing that...otherwise...it looks fantastic!!! Kelly decided to do a dual zone heating system which was not included in the bid...so, to offset that cost...we "get" to do all the tiling ourselves...how about 1300 square feet of it?? I have never laid a tile in my life! Anyone out there who would like to lend a hand is MORE than welcome!!!! :) There are like 20 pictures to scroll through...have fun!
This is just the sign for our builder...if anyone needs a good builder...call him!
This is the garage...looking good!
This is the front of the house...also looking good!
The whole house at once...
This is Brad and Joel (awesome framers) putting up a wall in the kitchen....
A view from the east side...the garage and shop...
A view from the west side...kitchen...living room...master bedroom...
This is in the girls' bathroom downstairs...the toilet will be on the right and the shower in the room to the left...
The beginning of the stairs...
They ran out of wood and couldn't finish the last few stairs for several days...
All done!...
The first trusses...over the master bedroom...
View of trusses from the front of the house...
I like this picture of the trusses...
Moving trusses for the garage...
I told Joel that I do not envy the job he has...he said..."oh, it isn't that bad...once you get used to it!"
Placing the truss...
Securing the truss...did you know that framers are like trapeze artists?
Here they have most of the trusses on the house...just a few left to do over the dining room and part of the kitchen...
A view from the front...love it!

Days 64-72
Now that the holidays are over...I may have a little more time to update this blog faithfully. They have pretty much framed the entire upstairs...it looks great! The garage is framed as well. Our builder is out of town this week, so the framers are waiting for him to return so they can use his big truck to lift the roof trusses on. There is a lot of snow up there...they hope the big truck doesn't get stuck while they are trying to do the job! Enjoy the pics!
The kiddos looking out of the dining room window that is on the front of the house...
I know this is kinda hard to see, but this is my pantry...the door on the far left is a small, front entry closet...then you can make out the next three openings on the left...those are the doors to the pantry...the door on the right of those is the door out to the mudroom, bathroom and garage...
This is the back wall of the garage waiting to be lifted up...
The roof trusses...
I just love my front door!
Some of the garage...
The garage finished....
Luke walking through the front door...
Putting up one of the walls in the kitchen...on the left of the hall is the pantry...in front of you is the opening into the living room...on the right is the kitchen...
