Days 73-88
Okay, so I said that I would be more diligent getting this thing updated...no such luck! We have been so busy trying to get Kelly's parents packed and ready to move to their new house that I have hardly had time to do anything else! The House is coming along great! Uncle Joe has been working on the plumbing and HVAC...he plans on bringing in the tubs and showers next week! Most of the house is completely framed, just a few odds and ends that need to be done. They finished framing the stairs yesterday...now we don't have to walk clear around the back of the house if we want to go downstairs! This week they have been working on the roof! Holy cow...it looks so different! They should get finished putting up the trusses tomorrow and will start sheeting it on Monday...very cool! I did notice the other day that my front dining room window is about 10 inches off center, so they will be fixing that...otherwise...it looks fantastic!!! Kelly decided to do a dual zone heating system which was not included in the bid...so, to offset that cost...we "get" to do all the tiling ourselves...how about 1300 square feet of it?? I have never laid a tile in my life! Anyone out there who would like to lend a hand is MORE than welcome!!!! :) There are like 20 pictures to scroll through...have fun!
This is just the sign for our builder...if anyone needs a good builder...call him!
This is the garage...looking good!
This is the front of the house...also looking good!
The whole house at once...
This is Brad and Joel (awesome framers) putting up a wall in the kitchen....
A view from the east side...the garage and shop...
A view from the west side...kitchen...living room...master bedroom...
This is in the girls' bathroom downstairs...the toilet will be on the right and the shower in the room to the left...
The beginning of the stairs...
They ran out of wood and couldn't finish the last few stairs for several days...
All done!...
The first trusses...over the master bedroom...
View of trusses from the front of the house...
I like this picture of the trusses...
Moving trusses for the garage...
I told Joel that I do not envy the job he has...he said..."oh, it isn't that bad...once you get used to it!"
Placing the truss...
Securing the truss...did you know that framers are like trapeze artists?
Here they have most of the trusses on the house...just a few left to do over the dining room and part of the kitchen...
A view from the front...love it!

Lookin' good!
ReplyDeleteDon't think we could ever live in IF though. Too much snow. :)
Wish you could have our weather. We have nothing on the ground down here. It is looking so fantastic Juliana (eeek!)
ReplyDeleteIt looks awesome! How fun for your family.
ReplyDeleteI nominate Michael Greer for the tiling. Your place looks exciting!
ReplyDeleteWe were talking about blogs tonight and your husband mentioned that you have one all about your house. I must say . . . gorgeous! Can't we redo the ward boundaries to somehow snag your house in?
