Days 89-115

I know...it has been a LONG time since I updated this...we have had LOTS going on! The House is looking great! I love it! Yesterday...they finally finished sheeting the roof. The inspector will check it tomorrow and then they will start shingles on Friday. The electrical subs did a walk through with us a few weeks ago...they will hopefully get started on that next week...Uncle Joe (the plumber and HVAC sub) will hopefully be able to get the tubs and showers in within the week...I hope the windows are here...my guess they will be put in next! The covered deck looks awesome! Even though our framers are a little on the slow side...they have done a fantastic job...we are very pleased with their work! There are a ridiculous amount of pictures here...so if you get bored...I understand!

The front entry framed...

Nearly all the roof framed...

The hip finished on the end of the garage...

We have had lots of snow followed by lots of warm weather which equals lots of puddles (small lakes) of water on the subfloor...here is Kelly diligently sweeping it out

Here they are sheeting over the guest room...

The plumbing in the mud room...pipe on left for drinking fountain...middle for basin sink...box on right for washer and dryer...

Sheeting the back of the garage...

The framing on the west side of the house...window on left is dining room, then kitchen, then living room, then master...the roof over the living room isn't framed yet...waiting for the deck to be built...

Another view...

Front half of the garage sheeted...bad weather...no work done today!

In order to finish the roof that would cover the deck, the deck had to be built! So, our contractor had to thaw the ground so he could pour the concrete...

Sheeting over the stairwell...

The back of the garage finished...

I like this picture with the little specks of snow...

Sheeting the west side of the house...above the dining room and kitchen...

The concrete slab for the patio under the deck staying nice and toasty under concrete blankets!

Here they are doing some of the finish work on the front gable...they couldn't get on the roof to do any sheeting because the snow was making it so slippery...

The front is done!

The finished patio...

I got there just in time to watch them erect the deck...

Up it goes!

Love it!

The deck framed with the hipped roof on top...

Looking out the master bedroom window on to the deck...

Sheeting the remainder of the roof...

A frontal view of the deck...we really like how it anchors that side of the house...

I just like to take lots of pictures...

This is a view of the house from the road at the bottom of the hill...

This is the back of the house as seen from the church parking lot...

Finishing the sheeting over the deck...

Almost done...

Just about there...

Finished!!!!

It looks great!...notice that they cut out the windows in the basement...finally...light in the basement!

A picture from the northeast corner of the house...

Home Sweet Home!

  2. This is going to be one beautiful home! Out of all the pics and captions there are two things that jump out at me. "drinking fountain" and "the house as seen from the church parking lot." Drinking fountain? You are a mom genius! I can only imagine your kitchen free of the dozens of glasses left out after every new drink of water. Genius is truly what you are.
Seeing your house from the church parking lot? Well, having lived here not too long ago, you know how jealous I am of you right now.
Loved stalking your pics. Can't wait to see the finished product.

  6. Hi Juliana,
I found your blog on Kristin's...How are you??
What a beautiful home. I can't wait to see it completed. I hope you are doing well. It has been a long time. I feel like the last time we really chatted was when we were working @ BYU laundry and that was a LONG time ago!
